Our Practices

We are proud to raise animals with organic practices (little "o" and not Big "O"). Whether in the way we graze, disturb, seed, fertilize or direct water, we hope to increase the strength of pasture. Over time, rotational grazing methods will encourage more and more plant growth to sustain a holistically managed, diverse group of livestock. Our goal is that these animals will nourish each other as a whole as they build soil: pigs, sheep, chickens and the hundreds of wild game birds who thrive here. Our animals are given enough space to exhibit natural behavior. An animal destined for your table will never be treated with vaccines, hormones, antibiotics or non-organic treatments of any kind. We employ only organic remedies and supplements, especially as preventative measures, although we have learned that good nutrition is the best medicine. We do not use herbicides, pesticides or synthetic chemicals of any kind on our pastures.
